Eleven mares have been confirmed in the 2016 Stocks Stakes field at Moonee Valley on Friday night; offering punters exceptional value from a betting standpoint and several key opportunities to place a winning wager.
Rising Romance ($2.80) is the clear and perhaps justifiable occupant of the top line of 2016 Stocks Stakes betting markets with leading online bookie Ladbrokes.com.au, ahead of Miss Rose De Lago ($4.20) and Don’t Doubt Mamma ($4.40).
Will Rising Romance justify her clear favouritism and win the 2016 Stocks Stakes, or will one of her talented rivals post an upset?
Rising Romance ($2.80)
Rising Romance’s class is sure to count for a lot on Friday night and the Group 1 winner is more than worth consideration for a bet at her current Stocks Stakes odds. Rising Romance produced a number of typically smart efforts through the recent autumn season and returned this time for an impressive second amongst particularly classy company in the Group 1 Memsie Stakes (1400m) on August 27th. While unable to produce much in the Group 1 Makybe Diva Stakes (1600m) last time out, the daughter of Ekraar will relish a return to mares’ company on Friday and is drawn ideally in barrier 4.
Don’t Doubt Mamma ($4.40)
Don’t Doubt Mamma has returned to racing in typically smart form this time and is a leading contender for a first three finish in the Stocks Stakes 2016. Resuming this year for success in the Group 3 The Vanity (1400m), Don’t Doubt Mamma placed second in the Group 2 Kewney Stakes (1400m), before returning to winning form in the Listed Redelva Stakes (1100m). The Not A Single Doubt mare has so-far finishing fifth in the Group 3 Cockram Stakes (1200m) and won the Group 2 Let’s Elope Stakes (1400m) this time in and has been charged with carrying only 56.5kgs on Friday.
Rocket Commander ($19)
Rocket Commander was unlucky to finish sixth in the Group 3 TIbbie Stakes (1350m) at her last start and is undoubtedly over the 2016 Stocks Stakes odds at her current quote. Posting six wins and a further fourteen minors through thirty-three career starts so far, Rocket Commander ran third in each of the Group 2 Queen Of The South Stakes (1600m) and Group 3 RA Lee Stakes (1600m) during the Adelaide Autumn Carnival most notably. Having placed third in the Group 3 Spring Stakes (1200m) and won the Listed Penny Edition Stakes (1400m) leading into her most recent start, the Court Command mare will relish a return to a mile in the Stocks Stakes.
